Our story

Fishguard and Goodwick Chamber of Trade and Tourism won a grant from the coastal communities fund to develop and support projects across North Pembrokeshire from 2014-16. This project was called Refreshing North Pembrokeshire.

Why “refreshing”?

Two reasons stand behind this. North Pembrokeshire refreshes you with peaceful atmospheres and breathtaking landscapes. It refreshes you but also it needs refreshing.

We are aware that this remote and sparsely populated area hides many of its assets, both people and places. Our commitment goes to developing North Pembrokeshire as a place of well-being where lots of history is preserved.

There are three main outcomes from Refreshing North Pembrokeshire:

• A welcoming team for cruise ships at the port. Currently named Fishguard Bay Welcome
• The change of the Chamber name to North Pembrokeshire Trade and Tourism
• The development of North Pembrokeshire Tours to make the many attractions in North Pembrokeshire accessible and available to visitors. We secured EU funding through the LEDAR program to develop the tours. We recruited and trained local people as tour leaders.

This is working progress, we aim to add more community-based experiences for our visitors, for that authentic North Pembrokeshire flavour!
